Sore Sunday

Well, the house is painted and it is GREEN! lol
I love it, and gonna love it more when my new door is installed, and the new shutters on the windows are installed, and when I get my new back porch furniture, and when I get my new swing, and, and......LOL, I was really so excited and pumping all this out to Scott, when I took a breath and actually saw the look on his face.......you can imagine. Him, paint covered and exhausted, listening to me making a longer honey do list. lol I had him barbecued ribs & sausage cooked and cold beer waiting, when that paint brush was finally chucked in the garbage. It was all good.
This is the first year that I have not put out Halloween decorations...I may stick a few out the week of Halloween, but nothing like I normally do.
This painting the house has been so long going, because of years of neglect...our fault. lol but the house has been wire brushed, caulked, primed and painted with some good paint. We were talking about how much money we saved doing it ourselves.(Scott is the "ourselves" part lol)
Were were quoted 3K to do this work and that did not include the wire brushing...they would pressure wash and it did not include the price of how much caulk would be needed. So we saved a hella lot!
OK, lets talk diet/weight loss.
I shared my grief and not so much of it, in my previous post on how well I felt and how well I was doing with my new way of nourishing my body and yet had not lost anymore weight. Well, I got on the scale yesterday and had a lil over a 3lb loss.
Hey, this is gonna be a slower process of loosing weight than it has ever been for me, but it is one that is gonna last and one that I know I can live with...and it is about living ya know.
Well, off to online shop for stuff.....

I bet you are thrilled! Since I come from a do it ourselves family, we are a do it ourselves family! Unless it's going to be beat with a hammer, then we do it! ;)

I believe a healthy weight loss is best as it will stay lost! Good luck! rose

3 lbs is great. I still say that when you don't see a loss in lbs, you should start taking your measurements.
I am going to TRY to not weigh at all except at WW. We'll see how I do with THAT...
and great on painting your house all by your Scotself. I can't wait until I am able to buy the paint to do MY house....

I bet Scott is plum tuckered, but I'm sure it looks wonderful...I can't wait to see the finished pictures! Congrats on the 3 pound loss....see, what did I tell you??? I'm so happy for you, as I know it really helps with the motivation factor to see progress on the scale. Now stay off for a while....promise me!!! Good for you Erica...keep on keeping on :)

Pooh Hugs,
Linda

UMMMM....PICTURES????? You painted your whole damn house and there are no freaking PICTURES?????????????? Come on girl! You're slacking!! (this coming from the woman who hasn't posted an entry in DAYS.....lol)

3 lbs is AWESOME!!! Maybe the key for you is to only weigh in once a month....cause THEN you will see a bigger loss at once!

((hugs))

I'm not the first to say this but... PICTURES? I mean... how can we celebrate your success with you unless we determine that it was, as you say, a job well done. *wink*

You also have to remember that as we age, our metabolism slows down (I think mine has actually stopped), so the weight loss may be slower. All the more reason to stay the course! Scott sounds like Glen..."and I'm gonna do what??" We have great ideas, don't we? Someone has to do get them done!

How neat that the house painting is done and you are so happy with it. I love the color green, so I know I'd love your house. :)
